Why PAT Test?

PAT testing helps to protect you, your business, your employees and your customers.

Health and Safety requires that businesses should protect all users of portable appliances from electrical shock and fire hazards, this is where PAT testing comes in by helping to minimise the risks of both electrical shock and fire hazard.

The Health and Safety Executive states that a quarter of all reportable electrical accidents involve portable appliances which include appliances in the work place that are fitted with an electrical plug of which computers, kettles, fridges, printers, hairdryers are just a very small selection.

How often to PAT Test

The latest IEE Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment 4th Edition suggests testing of portable appliances should be carried out in line with a risk assesment based approach which North Lincs PAT Testing can advise you on and provide a fully tailored package to perfectly suit your needs.

During a normal working day most people don’t give too much thought to Health and Safety we just go about our normal working day assuming that all is well and most staff are not trained to recognise and report faults .

All the appliances in the above slideshow were in use at the time of PAT Testing and were picked up during formal visual inspections where the operators were not aware of the faults, these items were immediately removed from service or repaired and the clients made aware.
